Ellington Leather Goods began in 1986 while Alecia Ellington was on a college program overseas. She coveted a handmade leather rucksack that she picked up at an open market. Before returning to the states, Alecia wrote her parents asking to borrow money to have 20 packs made. Her youthful enthusiasm convinced them and she headed home to sell her first product... The Original Rucksack. It is still the flagship bag of in the Ellington Collection.
